In these times of growing concern over high fuel prices, depleting energy source, and environmental degradation, the Philippines remains to be proactive with the enactment of the Republic Act 9637 or the Biofuel Law, and the creation of the National Biofuels Program. Considered as the most promising source of alternative fuel, biofuels production and utilization can thrust the country into energy independence, while bringing forth economic progress, increased income opportunities, and the development of the country's idle lands.
